Unlike his sister Laura, Lukas doesn't belong to the guards, because the skills of their father Marius Leander passed only to his daughter. However, Lukas is not jealous of the special talents of his sister. On the contrary, Lukas and Laura have a really good relationship - although they are siblings, which is not always so. This has perhaps to do with the fact that they have a common "foe":: their step-mother Sayelle.
In contrast to the very sports-minded Laura, Lukas is a rather slender, and inward-boy type "young scientist" and bookworm, for his age, in terms of knowledge, he is far ahead - making Luke sometimes act precociously. But outwardly, he is pretty similar to his sister:: Lukas is as blond as Laura, has the same blue eyes like her, and with the dimples on his chin he looks exactly like her. But unlike Laura, Lukas bears large spectacles on his nose.
The specific knowledge and skills of Lukas will be for Laura more than once useful in their great task. Lukas, of course, supports his sister doing his best - although he initially did not believe it, when he learned about their destination. But who would blame him?
